As part of it’s campaign to raise awareness about the improper disposal of menstrual waste and how it has professional implications for sanitation workers, The Red Lotus distributes मैं – “me” in Hindi – in local communities for menstruators to use. These packets, made of recycled newspaper, helps sanitation workers to discern menstrual waste from other waste, is portable and minimises chances of any infection. The Red Lotus plans to work with sanitarion workers, their children and other domestic help to make these packets. All packets will be sold for a small price and the money collected will be used to better working conditions for sanitation workers.
