Across the world, women and girls have developed their own personal strategies to cope with menstruation. Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) is a topic that is often stigmatized. A woman’s economic status, local socio-cultural norms, access to resources, and access to female reproductive education serve as constraints to effectively practice MHM in a safe and dignified manner.
The East Africa Institute (EAI) facilitates research, policy-making and stakeholder dialogue on gender-transformative programming within the water, sanitation and hygiene sector (WASH). In partnership with the Garden of Hope Foundation, EAI is pleased to host an online conversation on MHM featuring policymakers and panelists from the private sector and grassroots organizations. Our objective is to engage experts to help understand the state of MHM in Kenya; account for the situation and identify the policy gaps and recommendations.
This event will be held on May 27th 2020 from 12-1:30 PM East Africa time.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
