Awareness Drive & Live Facebook Discussion

International Youth Alliance for Family Planning – Liberia and her partners, Women-Concern Liberia and Youth Action Network Liberia will host an event in celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day tagged: “#NoMoreLimits – Empowering Women and Girls through Good Menstrual Hygiene”.

The event will be a half day programme. It will be organized in two schools in Paynesville and Somalia Drive and on our social media pages.

Activities:
1. Live Facebook Discussion on the Topic: #LetsTalkPERIOD
We will have a live discussion with three young ladies who will talk about their experiences with this issue. We will be talking #PERIOD.

We wil be responding to comments from viewers. This activity will be carried out live by KMTV and will be shared on our page, as well as pages of our partners to spread the word. This activity is slated for May 26, 2018.

2. Awareness: #MenstruationMatters Because…
Students and teachers will be given a sheet to end the above statement and take a photo holding the paper. Pictures will be posted on our Facebook page which will be boosted to meet audience outside of Liberia. This activity will be done on May 28, 2018.

3. Awareness Drive: #NoMoreLimits
This activity will be done in two high schools in Somalia Drive and Paynesville. Issues and taboos about menstruation will be talked about, with topics like MHM, the usage of clean sanitary napkins, hygiene practices, safe disposal, etc. After the discussions with female students, reusable pads will be distributed.
