In Kenya 1 out of 3 girls miss at least 5 days of school PER MONTH because of menstruation. Most girls especially from marginalized communities are not informed about menstruation. In an effort to break the silence, Garden of Hope Foundation currently works with 500 students a week to raise awareness on various issues including but limited to MENSTRUAL HYGIENE.
On 26th May 2017,We will mark the MH Day with 300 girls from Kibera slum (The largest slum in sub-Sahara Africa), in an effort to break the silence. These girls will be accompanied by their male school mates, guardians and parents. We expect about 500 people and you could be one of them!!
