Celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day

Wreetu is organizing an event to celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day on 20th May, 2017 at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro (5th Floor) from 10.00am to 12.30pm.

Wreetu is an organization that is educating about PUBERTY and PERIOD to the girls and women. Wreetu organizes interactive workshops throughout the country and creates digital contents on the related subjects to raise awareness, spread the right information and build a community of health conscious confident women. Along with that, Wreetu is developing an interactive illustrated story-based comic book where everything about puberty and period comes in a friendly discussion.

However, Menstrual hygiene day (MHD or MH Day) is an annual awareness day, on 28 May, that aims to break taboos and raise awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene management (MHM) for women and adolescent girls worldwide. May 28 was chosen for its symbolism since May is the 5th month of the year and most women average 5 days every month and their cycle is approximately 28 days. The theme of our celebration is ‘Family Discussion Breaks Period Taboo’.

On our event, we are inviting school and university female students who we had conducted workshop on along with their parents and teachers to attend the event. The event will be open for all and anyone interested can attend and take part in the decision.
