End the Red Trend

In commemoration of the World Menstrual Hygiene (MH) Day, all roads led to Emeka Aghasili Secondary school in the outskirts of Agulu Anambra State as we engaged young teens in a discourse on menstruation, hygiene and reproductive health…

They were willing to learn, and asked intelligent questions about matters relating to womanhood as a subject, and intimated their sincere fears …

Most of these girls were shy, but engaged. They seemed to savor every moment of the nearly 4-hour discourse on a regrettably neglected topic, trying to grasp the importance of every sub-topic.

They were too grateful to leave, so our photo shoot was quite engaging…

I hereby appeal to our mothers, aunties and ladies in general to commence sex education as early as 9-10 years for their girls. They most certainly will get this information, from their peers or the internet, but how will they know best practices if no one tells them…

Keep an eye on the girl child!
