
An event for adolescent girls of slums of Sachin, Surat District. Organized by the Department of Community Medicine, GMCS. It will include a skit on menstural hygiene, stalls on the female reproductive system, and activities related to hygiene and nutrition.
“The event was attended by 40 adolescent girls from the slum of Sachin. We started off with a skit on menstrual hygiene and its importance. This was followed by exhibitions in stalls on menstrual hygiene and sanitation, the female reproductive organ and the physiology of menstruation and nutrition. The Weekly Iron-Folic acid Supplementation (WIFS) programme of the Govt. of India was also promoted. Games were organized, which were used to summarize and re-emphasize the messages. The support of local health workers was also sought.“
