It’s time for action in the community

Menstrual Hygiene Day takes place on 28 May every year. It’s a chance to highlight the importance of menstrual care for women and girls, and raise awareness about the issues faced by those who don’t have access to sanitary products. To commemorate this day we plan to hold a community sensitisation campaign in rural parts of Kenya, specifically at Ulamba Orphanage and Community centre where we will mobilise over 400 community members to participate. These marginalised, vulnerable and neglected communities and deserve to cared for as our commitment to action, they are our priority this year.

On #MHDay2021, CAPE-HOPE ORGANIZATION is working to provide sanitary towels to around 300 vulnerable women and girls, break the silence around periods, tackle the stigma often associated with them, and raise awareness of the importance of menstrual hygiene for women and girls around the world.
