The Scarlet Company and Singaporean papercut artist Kaelie Kwah have innovated to bring an ‘Asian’ flavour to MHD ’21 with an origami ‘Menstrual Cycle’ paper bracelet for Scarlet’s Menstrual Hygiene Day Campaign in May 2021! Scarlet’s online MHD campaign aims to raise awareness for menstrual hygiene and health, and combat the social stigma associated with ‘period talk’ by encouraging our community of individuals and menstrual health and hygiene companies to make and wear the Origami Menstrual Cycle Bracelet with pride for #MHD2021.
“We are hugely passionate about our mission and want to be supporters & change makers in raising awareness in the menstrual health space. We partner with like minded companies who align with our mission to support women through improving their menstrual heath”
says Laurel Lua, founder of The Scarlet Company. She continues;
“We believe that through innovation, collaboration and partnerships we can make a collective difference in the world. We are taking the lead and hope that all women & businesses can support & join us to stand for the basic rights of women to have menstrual hygiene access & education. We came up with the idea of an origami design that everyone can learn to make, which also adds an Asian influence to the bracelet, and Kaelie’s has been extremely supportive and very creative…”
