The African Women’s Federation of South Australia have been running a Maternal Health Care Project and we are culminating our 2-year project exploring African Womens Maternal Health Care needs in South Australia. This encompasses all ages including Adolescent Girls, Pregnant and Birthing women and Women in later life.
As the project is concluding around Menstrual Hygiene Day on the 28th, we believe there is a great opportunity to spread the message of MHD with our wider African Womens community. We are making bracelets, having conversations, supplying and teaching women around alternative sustainable products, breaking taboos and educating on many aspects of menstrual and women’s health.
We are excited for this opportunity to share this great day with our African communities here in South Australia.
