Menstrual Equity Press Briefing

On Wednesday, May 24 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Congresswoman Grace Meng will host a panel discussion on how current menstrual hygiene policies at the local, state, and federal level have negative outcomes for women’s health, safety, and wellbeing, and what can be done to address them. These are policies are being debated in state legislatures across the country, but for the first time, they will be discussed in our nation’s capital. The discussion will occur in advance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28.

Panelists will include Ashley Orgain, Director of Mission Advocacy and Engagement for Seventh Generation; Sarah Craven, Director of the Washington Office for the United Nations Population Fund; Alexandra Scranton, Director of Science and Research of Women’s Voices for the Earth; Laura Strausfeld, co-founder of Period Equity; and Holly Seibold, Executive Director for Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters (BRAWS).
