Hygiene committees for Menstrual Hygiene have been created by the WASH team in 10 schools, in Zakho District, Duhok, Iraq. The selection of schools is based on the school classes (7-9) and for females. Each school with 2 teacher-related and 3 female students. Some actions after the event were noted to continue hygiene promotion awareness in the selected schools conducted by the hygiene committees with support of Save the Children’s Hygiene promoters distributing leaflets and conduct sessions regarding MH. In June, Save the Children is planning for distributing small boxes for holding sanitary pads and also distributing sanitary pads over the selected schools with a garbage bins and liquid soap.
