May 28th, World Menstrual Hygiene Day
Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is a global platform that brings together non-profits, government agencies, the private sector, the media and individuals to promote Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM). It raises awareness of the challenges women and girls worldwide face due to their menstruation and highlights solutions that address these challenges.
To mark this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Smile Africa International Youth Development Initiative in collaboration with Int’l Centre for Women Empowerment & Child Development, White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood and the National Youth Network on Population and HIV and AIDS with support from WASH United and The University of Benin is organizing a one-day capacity training workshop on Menstrual Hygiene Management for school teachers, students, teenage teachers from churches and organizations working on girl child development.
