Pandora’s Box Documentary and Panel

Period OKC is bringing awareness to their efforts to fight period poverty by hosting a documentary screening that poses that question.

Interested parties can attend a screening of “Pandora’s Box,” a Diva Cup documentary ‘Lifting the Lid on Menstruation’ at Rodeo Cinema on Film Row. Krista Rice will be the emcee for the event. She is a public engagement speaker that focuses on authentic conversation and community empowerment.

The event will be hosted by Period OKC on Wednesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. in collaboration with Diva Cup, Rodeo Cinema and Kiwanis Club of South Oklahoma City. Tickets for the event are $5 and will be available to purchase at the door and on the Rodeo Cinema website.

Period OKC, a local non-profit organization, serves the community year-round by donating menstrual products to those in need, educating the public on menstruation and de-stigmatizing periods through advocacy campaigns.

Following the screening, there will be a panel of four leading a discussion:
Liv Whitley, education & outreach coordinator for the Gender+Equity Center at the University of Oklahoma;
Christen Jarshaw, medical student and reproductive health advocate at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine;
AnaMarie Lopez, counseling psychology graduate student and sexual health ambassador internship coordinator at The Women’s Research & BGLTQ+ Student Center at the University of Central Oklahoma;
GP, biologist, gender scholar and events coordinator at The Women’s Research & BGLTQ+ Student Center at the University of Central Oklahoma.
