The Angaza Project celebrates this important day every year, but we also take action throughout the whole year. This year, our event is called Shine. (Shine with a period at the end of the word, Shine is English for Angaza which is a Swahili term). We serve girls in the Kibera slum in Kenya. This year, we are under a government lockdown because of the virus so we have to do things differently in our location. We created an infographic for print with information about menstruation and menstrual health and created dignity kits what include undies, pad packs and the printed infographic. We are not allowed to congregate per the lock down restrictions, so the girls will stop on by at pick up times to collect their package. (Usually we would have health speakers, lunch and then the packs with fun activities but we are restricted for COVID lock down)
