Due to Covid-19 situation, Wreetu is celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020 virtually, because periods don’t stop for pandemics.
So, this year’s celebration is stretched into a week-long (May 27 to June 2) carnival of online activities. Exciting gifts will be provided to the winners. The activities include,
1. Online Quiz Competition – from 27/05/2020 12:00 am to 28/05/2020 11:59 pm (BD time)
Students from Class 5 to Class 10 will be quizzed to create awareness about the importance and impact of menstruation in a woman’s life. The competition will start from 27/05/2020 at 12:00 am and ends on 28/05/2020 at 11:59pm. 10 winners from all correct answers will be chosen randomly through Lottery. Winners will be announced on Wreetu’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/WreetuBook/) on 02/06/2020 at 4 pm. Each winner will receive a Gift Pack from Wreetu. The gift pack will contain Menstrual Hygiene Products, 1 copy of Wreetu Comic Book, 1 Menstruation Bracelet, and Educational materials such as pen, pencil box etc.
2. (Recorded) Virtual Panel Discussion: Period in South Asian Regions – 29/05/2020 at 10 am (BD time)
The panel consists of Panelists from different South Asian countries.

Also, they discussed about cross cultural collaboration prospective to break boundaries about period shaming among South Asian countries.

Their discussion focused on women’s overall position during emergency situations like pandemic or other global devastations including natural calamity such as flood or cyclone, or man-made devastation such as war. In most of the circumstances displaced women are the most susceptible group and they often fall into economic, social and health vulnerabilities. The discussion also focuses on SRHR issues and possible health threats girls and women might face due to lockdown.
